TOPIC: Amulet Remote Control Hexadecimal IR Codes

Amulet Remote Control Hexadecimal IR Codes 7 years 1 month ago #40

Hi All,

Is it poissible to get the hexadecimal IR codes of my amulet remote control?

I am trying to learn it to another device (IR tranceiver), but for some reason this device is not learning the full and correct code, so my other choice is by copy/paste the hexadecimal code to that device.

Can anyone help please? :(

Hi Hisham,

Welcome to the forum!

The Amulet Remote uses the RC6 IR standard. In particular it sends Microsoft Media Center Codes. I checked on Remote Central for hex files. There are a number here where I looked for Vista MCE codes. They would be the same as we use.

The RC6 protocol uses a toggle bit which can cause trouble for learning.

Can you give a bit more detail on your setup? There may be other ways to achieve it. The Amulet Remote can also learn new codes.

Or I may be able to make up some specific hex codes for the receiver you have.

Hi Conor,

Thanks for your fast reply, but i tried your links and i coudlnt find any codes :(

I am trying to control my lights (on/off) using the amulet remote. I already have a working automation system and there is already an IR tranceiver installed.

This tranceiver can learn IR codes, and then i can program it to do some controlling over my lights depending on the IR it receives. for example, i can program it to turn off the lights if i press on "zero" on the remote, and turn on when i press on "one".

i guess it will be fine if i get the exact hex IR codes and then just paste it there.

thanks,
Hisham

Yes, there are two possibly options. I will go and do some tests on these codes. But I thought I'd throw them up here anyway. You might get them working faster than me. I got them from an excel spreadsheet on remotecentral.

Yes, I'm confident that those are a good representation of the Media Center RC6 codes for buttons 0 and 1. The toggle that I mentioned is why there is an alternate code for each. The protocol specifies that each time a new button is pressed, the toggle bit should change.

That means a second press of the same button will produce the alternate code for that button. A third press and the standard code will be sent. So there are effectively two codes for each button with a small difference between them.

You can also learn a new code onto our remote. This may be useful if your equipment has trouble with the toggle. See this support article about learning, or check the User Guide.

There is a full list of button codes in the excel spreadsheet.
