Hi,
I am thinking about purchasing a Amulet voice controlled remote for my HTPC, right now I use XBMC for the htpc and it see all of the movies on my whs. I have read that the Amulet software scans what is in the media center libary, but not the whs,
all of my movies can be seen from the media center movies libary. Does anyone no if this will work out of the box, and if not
what do I have to do to make it see the movies on the Whs.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Regards,
Don

The software supplied with the Amulet voice remote only directly supports Windows Media Center. This includes any movies on a connected WHS system, so if you can already see your movies within Media Center, then Amulet should automatically detect them without any trouble.

You can also add additional local and network folders to Amulet's index if you want to include media not already indexed directly by Media Center. You will still need to view any such movies within Media Center, however.

While our bundled software doesn't directly support XBMC, there is a good third-party solution called VoxCommando which adds voice control to XBMC and works well with the Amulet Voice Remote.

Eddy

Sure. To add a new folder, open a command prompt and type:
"C:\Program Files\Amulet Devices\Amulet.Scanner" foldername
where foldername is the full path to the folder to be indexed. Video files in the folder will be added immediately, and automatically included in any subsequent media scans carried out by Amulet.

At a later stage, you can remove a manually added folder with the command:
"C:\Program Files\Amulet Devices\Amulet.Scanner" /remove foldername
For example, you might say:
"C:\Program Files\Amulet Devices\Amulet.Scanner" "\\WHS-Server\Movies"
if your Windows Home Server machine is called WHS-Server, and has a share called Movies containing all your media.

Any manually entered folders are recorded in the main Amulet configuration file "C:\ProgramData\Amulet Devices\Amulet.ini", under the Scanner section.

As mentioned previously, if Media Center can already see this folder, then you won't need to do anything within Amulet -- it should detect it automatically.
