What IR receiver are you using?

The Amulet Remote is provided with a dongle for receiving the audio. It does not handle the buttons. You need to have a compatible IR receiver. The Amulet Remote uses Media Center IR codes, so if you already had a standard MC remote, it should work.

Thank you conor for your help.
Now i have a real headache.
A device that costs 150 $ and i cannot use the buttons without ir receiver , my God what a waist .
After one week of international shipping and i cannot use the remote buttons without ir .
I thought you have invented something that never uses ir in this 21 century.
Cannot you use wifi, blutooth or radio???????????????

Sorry to hear that this is a bigger problem than expected.

Most of our customers are existing Media Center users, and as such they would have had an IR receiver already. We therefore did not bundle a receiver as standard. We have the option in our shop to purchase a receiver for those that do not have one. You may also find a Media Center receiver in a local shop quicker and/or cheaper. We would like to send the buttons over the radio link, but that would give an un-acceptable battery life on the remote as the radio would be on more, and use a lot of power. We are investigating our next design at the moment and we intend to provide wireless buttons. Not that that helps at the moment.

Dear conor
Do you know any internal ir reciever (5.25 or 3.5 bay) that is fully compatible with amulet reomte (all buttons work without any ffurther configuration)?
I built new PC and i thought your remote is going to do every thing with that dongle but unfortunately it doesnt.
I am thinking to buy antec Multimedia Station Elite but i am not sure if the ir reciever will work with amulet without further configuration .

We have not tested that IR receiver here, but I believe some of our customers have. I read on the product information that it uses iMON software. We have a KB article about using the Amulet Remote with iMON -
