TOPIC: 3rd Party plug ins / Blu Ray and HD video files

Hi

I currently use MCE with an Arcsoft Total Media Theatre (TMT) plug in for Blu Ray and HD video playback. This works seamlessly via MCE and responds to all MCE remote keystrokes. Will the Amulet voice recognition software preserve this and allow operation of TMT via MCE?

Also, does the Amulet software recognise and playback Blu Ray and HD video files (produced by 1080p camcorder)?

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,

We haven't tested against TMT so I can't give you a definite answer as to whether it will work.

What I can tell you is that if TMT plays back using the normal Media Center interface (i.e. it's primarily codec support for Blu-ray, rather than an entirely seperate player) then it should work fine. If it launches a separate player, with its own interface, it probably will not work.

While we can generate keystrokes like Play, Stop, Pause, etc through voice, the real benefit comes from more sophisticated commands like "Skip to 30 minutes"; these only work with the built-in MCE player at present.

Similarly, we can play back HD video if you have a suitable codec installed, but not using external player software.

Regards,

Eddy

I don't use TMT so not sure of that. but I have lots of HD files that I play via voice command. I have ripped BRD that I rip to access them via library (HD) all play fine, even my 3D rips. I also have massive quantities of 1080p home videos I've shot that also play fine. But as support said, these play fine in media center anyway. So nothing really changes. The only problem would be if media selected calls up a player outside of media center. I haven't had mine that long yet, I can help more after a another couple weeks of experience.
