Hello,

I've been waiting for someone to create a voice controlled app that works well with Windows Media Center for years. I finally tried your software and am very impressed. It was simple to install but has its limitations.

I've been working with Chef to try and get Amulet Kinect to control Media Browser to no avail. The only commands I've gotten to work are "Go to Media Browser" and "Search Star Trek" which obviously searches for a specific movie... and works well I might add.

My problem is I cant get the most basic commands to work. For example, "Go Back", in response Amulet Kinect says "Go Back" but nothing happens. After searching a movie, Amulet Kinect will find the movie and enter into the details screen where you can read the details... But creating a simple command, "Play movie", where you would think simply pressing "ok" or "enter" (assuming they are remote commands) does nothing. Manually pressing play then stating commands (stop video, pause video, etc), Amulet Kinect listens and obeys commands.

So my question is... Is there a limitation in the Amulet Kinect software where these simple commands cant be made??

I love your software, and wish I could get it working (as Chef has his Amulet Remote working) flawlessly to control my dedicate theater without use of a remote.

Please help if you can. Amulet Kinect has GREAT potential, but from the sounds of it, you guys aren't supporting it.

Thanks,

Xzener

Ok, so Chef and I have made progress using scripts to accomplish tasks. But have hit another wall. Still having an issue entering VF (Virtual Folder) using Amulet Kinect.

Here is a snipit of the entry point we're trying to access...

This image is hidden for guests. Please log in or register to see it.

We tried using this script...
set WshShell = wscript.CreateObject("wscript.shell")

 Cmdline = chr(34) & "C:\Windows\ehome\ehShell.exe" & chr(34) & " /entrypoint:{ce32c570-4bec-4aeb-ad1d-cf47b91de0b2}\{e773528a-19b4-4a38-9c60-90e86d57a556} " & chr(34)

 WshShell.Run(Cmdline)

Talker = "C:\Program Files\Amulet Devices\Amulet.Talker.exe"

Response = "*All Movies"

Cmdline = chr(34) & Talker & chr(34) & " " & Response

WshShell.Run(Cmdline)

While in the EHS (Media Browser main menu) saying "All Movies" does nothing. But browsing movies within a VF and saying "All Movies", Amulet Kinect will send you back to the EHS. I'm not sure what we're doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Xzener

Chef and I have come a long way. Id have to say full MCE and Media Browser control has been accomplished to include Event Ghost and a USB-UIRT for voice controlled home automation. Its too bad Amulet Kinect development is dead... it has great potential.

Here is a video of me controlling Media Browser using the Kinect...
