There are strong rumors that Google are about to announce voice control for the GoogleTV platform. This will allow users to open apps and select movie/TV/music playback via simple voice commands. Voice commands will be sent via a custom remote or another android device such as a smartphone.

Thanks for flagging this - nice to see Google joining us in the market :-)

I strongly believe 2013 is going to be the year where voice-controlled TV starts to gain widespread acceptance. Watch this space...
