Hello, it is Ben here...again
I have written some scripts to integreat amulet with home automation. However I can run command lines in the vbscript as administrator, it would be easier to call cscript.exe from custom commands as an administrator. Is this possible?

What did you do in the end to get it working?

there was no easy way about it. Right Now a bunch of us are using amulet to trigger events in EventGhost for Home Automation. EventGhost wasn't working very well, until we realized everything had to be run as admin. No one really wanted to turn off UAC, so I tried a couple different options, wrapping scripts, using "runas". But in the end it's almost impossible to run vbscripts as Admin without registry hacks, which I wasn't prepared to do either. There was no way to run anything without UAC popups anyway.

So as long as EventGhost was run as Admin we started to get some better results. Amulet most likely doesn't get Admin rights, and why would it need them? right...

UAC popups were a whole new bag of annoying too.

So as long as EventGhost was run as administrator it was okay.

By the way, we have got at least three home theaters running home automation with Amulet Kinect (really cool stuff there) and a couple guys at Media Browser got remotes shipped to them by third party shipping companies like I did and they are all extremely happy.

I'm still spreading the news!! One geeky HTPC owner at a time :) just like me!

Well, I think at the time, we had everything running as Admin Chef... but we were also throwing so many scripts at it too... eventually got it working with Event Ghost. But I have since restarted everything normally. Running as Admin kept throwing the popup where we couldn't get around it. I think it was just a coincidence.
